When my father died (November 7, 1997) I was with this wonderful
man. I often think tomyself-he was there when I took my first breath and
I was with him when he took his last -what an honor. My Mom is having a
hard time dealing with my Dad's absence, they were married 48 years and
oh, what a love story!

So I wrote a poem for my Mom and it helped somewhat-she now sleeps in
his bed because she truely believes he is here with us.

                         While Angels Sing

                                        You have left us
                                     but you are not gone.
Your journey on this earth is over
but you will walk with us forever more.

                                        You have left us
                                     but you are not gone.
As we wash our faces with our tears
you will dry them with your gentle smile.

                                         You have left us
                                      but you are not gone.
Our sweet tasting memories are in our hearts
and we are wrapped in your eternal soul.

                                          You have left us
                                       but you are not gone.
You can hear our ever prayer
and while we listen to the angels sing
your voice will be among them.

                                          You have left us
                                       but you are not gone.
When we hold out our trembling hands
we will feel your strength once more.

                                           You have left us
                                        but you are not gone.
Your undying love will keep us strong
just as it has all these years before
                                              you left us.
                                      But you are not gone,
you are with us more than ever before.
