My brother Jeff committed suicide March 26, 1996. He was manic-depressive and had
lived with this condition for 13 years. He was 26. Following is a poem he
wrote
that I think tells his story.

the undesirable state of mind.
The one that wants to kill.
The one that makes me cry,
The one that will make me die.
The one that makes irrational decisions.
The one that runs my life.
The one that needs to be locked up.
The one that NEEDS that drink.
The one that hates and hates and hates
The one that selfdestructs daily...
The one that loves also...
Thats the one that is taking over
The one that smokes this joint.
The one that loves Tina.
The one that scares me.
The one that will be shot.
The one that crys.
The one that dies
The one that sucks
The one that fucks
The one that is here and now
The only one of me I know.
the one that goes to bed
with loaded guns.

He put a 12-gauge shotgun in his mouth and blew the top of his head off.
